Iris van Breda works in Het Scheepvaartmuseum, the Dutch National Maritime Museum, in Amsterdam. After finishing Museum Studies at the Reinwardt Academy, she went on to study Information Science at the University of Groningen. A couple of years later she combined these two studies at her work for Adlib Information Systems, a leading supplier of software for archives, libraries and museums. She now uses her knowledge and experience of the Adlib software in her job as the Adlib Application Manager in Het Scheepvaartmuseum.

Besides loving her job, and her colleagues, she also has some other passions. After losing 60lbs and having a herniated disc removed she started to train for a triathlon. Only six months after the surgery she successfully finished her first sprint distance triathlon in 2010. And in 2011 she finished a couple of Olympic distance triathlons.

You can follow her work, photos and random thoughts on LinkedIn, Flickr, and Twitter.
